Pier Fishing and More
Hunting Island State Park
In addition to a great fishing pier located on an inlet just off the ocean Hunting Island offers surf fishing and a lagoon that can be fished as well. The pier is open 24 hours and has a small store open in the daytime as well as cold soft beverage machines on the pier.
There is a five dollar per day charge which also includes admission to the rest of the park including the wonderful beach and lagoon area.
Just drive east on Sea Island Parkway to Hunting Island and look for the signs.
Broad River Pier
Actually a part of the old bridge. This is a great fishing pier.
Rebuilt just for fishing and extending halfway across the river this pier is big. Lit at night and open 24hours a day. Admission is free and there are clean restrooms.
You will have to bring your own soft drinks and bait since there is nowhere to buy such things. Still, a wonderful place for a fishing picnic.
From Beaufort just turn right about the same time you can see the bridge.
